TheSunNews.com Halloween Costume Contest Rules
1. HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. Official photo entry for the TheSunNews.com Halloween Costume will appear on TheSunNews.com from October 25, 2010 through November 21, 2010. To enter, log on to TheSunNews.com. Entries can also be dropped off at the customer service lobby of the main office of The Sun News, located at 914 Frontage Road E. in Myrtle Beach. Photos will not be returned. Only one entry per person, per category will be accepted for the duration of the contest. Entrants may submit one photo in each category, but are only eligible to win one prize. Entries can be submitted at any time during the contest period and remain eligible for the remaining contest period once received. Entry must include name, address, and phone number.
2. ELIGIBILITY: You must be 18 years of age or older and residing in The Sun News distribution area. Sweepstakes is void where restricted or prohibited by law. Employees of The Sun News, and contest sponsors and their immediate family are ineligible to participate in this Sweepstakes.
3. DRAWING AND NOTIFICATION: One winner in each category will be voted on by TheSunNews.com viewers. The voting period will run from November 7, 2010 through November 17, 2010. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winner will be announced on TheSunNews.com and in The Sun News on Sunday, November 21, 2010.
4. PRIZES: Three (3) prizes will be awarded, one per category. Prize includes: a $100 giftcard to Grand 14 at the Market Common and a complimentary photo sitting with Lindsey Mills Photography.
5. PRIZE CONDITIONS: Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on prizes and other unspecified expenses related to prizes. If an entrant selected as winner does not comply with the Official Rules, then the winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. Except where prohibited by law, the winners’ entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for The Sun News to use winners’ name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and residential address for promotional or advertising purposes in connection with this Sweepstakes and in all forms of media, without review, permission or further compensation. Winner and entrants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor (The Sun News) from and against any claims, damages, disability, attorneys' fees, and costs of litigation and settlement, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from (i) redemption, acceptance, possession, ownership, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity or (ii) printing, distribution or production errors.
6. EXTENDED TERMS OF USE: By entering this sweepstakes, each entrant acknowledges and agrees that: by opting in, all personal information collected by Sponsor will be used for administration of the Sweepstakes. In addition, entrants may receive email correspondence from, or on behalf of the Sponsor or promotional partners. Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If The Sun News cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.
The Sun News reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
The Sun News reserves the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the affiliate's' office.
Employees of The Sun News, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant to The Sun News the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
The Sun News reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, Inc., and/or The Sun News. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and The Sun News are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
The Sun News reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
